FAQ's

Are group discounts available?

Yes!  Groups of 10 or more qualify for a discount.  Please contact us for further details.

Are meals provided?

Yes!  We will serve continental breakfast with catered lunch and dinner each day along with drinks and snacks throughout the day.  Vegetarian selections will also be available at each meal.

What time do you start?

On Friday, registration is from 7:30 am to 8:00 am.  The first presentation starts at 8:00.  Please be there early to get a good seat.

What time will we finish on Saturday?

We will finish the last concert at approximately 9:00 pm.  Attendees who will require air transportation should schedule their departure flight for Sunday morning.

What can I expect?

The "lectures" are more of an interactive exchange between the presenters and the audience.  Conference attendees are encouraged to ask questions as this allows to offer you the full experience.  Hands-on workshops are exactly that.  Materials will be provided for attendees to build various projects.  We all learn best though doing and the workshops allows you to do.

What is in the conference handbook?

Each participant receives a 100+ page (combined book & CDROM) Good Stuff for Kids handbook full of songs & chants, articles, research, art activities, hands-on science activities, puzzles, hankie & paper folding, and jigsaw puzzle making instructions.

What are the requirements for online attendance?

We will be using the WebEx video conferencing system.  WebEx supports PC, Mac, Linux, Unix, and Solaris systems.  You can also join via iPhone.  We encourage you to verify system compatibility on the WebEx site ahead of time.  A browser plug-in download may be necessary.

Will the conference be recorded?

Yes!  The live streaming session of the conference will be recorded for later viewing.

When will the recorded webcast be available?

The recorded webcast will be available approximately 2 hours following the sessions.

I have registered as a webcast attendee but am unable to attend during the live session.  Can I watch the recorded session later?

Yes.  The link for the recorded webcast will be different than the link for the live webcast.  We will send out an e-mail with the links to the recorded webcasts to all registered attendees.

Do you have a detailed schedule for each of the webcast sessions?

Yes.  Please see the detailed webcast schedule here.

How do webcast attendees receive the handbook?

The handbook will only be available to in-person conference attendees.

How long will the recorded webcasts be available online?

The recorded webcasts will remain posted for at least 2 months following the conference.

How long are the sessions?

Typically, the lectures are 1 to 2 hours in duration.

Professional Development Credit / College Credit

All participants, including those on district funding or release time, should be eligible to enroll since these credits are awarded entirely for follow-up on your own personal time after completion of this conference.  Attendance is merely a prerequisite to this course requirement.  Contact the University of the Pacific at 800-479-1995 for more information.
